Kattie  – Co-Founder and President

Hi everyone, Jenny and I started UBC Life Sciences Circle in 2014. We hoped to bring university level science to high school students and give them an opportunity to explore their interests. I graduated with a Biology degree focusing on genetics and I am studying Computer Science now. We decided to expand our Circle to UniLink Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to introduce high school students to post secondary degrees and career paths. I love animals, nature, and hiking so I take many pictures of the world around me. I am a devoted Shinhwa Changjo, if you know what that is…  😉

 

Cindy  – Events and External Affairs

I graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and currently work at a research lab on campus (at UBC). My role in events and external affairs is to assist in promoting and managing UniLink’s public image and awareness by developing fundraising plans, marketing our organization, and plan activities for our events. I’m a huge lover of the Korean rabbit Mashimaro, sweets, tea, and J-Pop/K-Pop music (especially BTS)..

 

 Kensei – Vice President

I’m a fourth year student at UBC, originally majoring in biology, then switching to psychology. My role includes contacting other groups for donations, services, as well as fundraising. Interesting facts about me: I have military experience as a medic, and I enjoy ultimate frisbee, poetry, origami, and absolutely love the stupid bunny.

 

Gina – Marketing and Sponsorship

 Hello everyone, my name is Gina and I am going into 12th grade at University Hill Secondary School. I am super excited and happy to be working with the executive team of UniLink this year. I was involved with UniLink as an ambassador in my grade 11th year (last year) and I wanted to help out and get involved even more! Overall, I am a typical high school student who enjoys playing ultimate and watching netflix and kdramas.

 

Amy – Event Assistant

Hello everyone! I am currently a third year BSc student at UBC and I have been volunteering with the circle since 2014. After attending the first LSC session, I was very excited about the mission and potential of the circle. I then founded the Ambassador Program and took on the role of Outreach Coordinator. I love visual arts and volunteering as a first aid provider with St. John Ambulance. I hope to expand the reach of LSC in order to bring science enrichment seminars to more diverse communities. Tina – Marketing and Sponsorship director

Hi everyone! I am a Grade 12 student at Point Grey Secondary School. I was involved with UniLink as an ambassador for the 2017-2018 school year and am really appreciative to have been given an executive position for Marketing and External Affairs for another great year. My range of interest extends from business to science, music and media. I am extremely thrilled to reach out to my peers and provide opportunities to gain insight into various university related topics. Some interesting facts about me are I am a huge fan of Korean variety shows and K-pop music. 🙂

 

Serena – Ambassadors Coordinator

I’m a second year student in biology. My role as assistant event coordinator is to help plan events and organize student panels. I like volunteering with health organizations, playing the piano and taking extremely long and unnecessary naps.

 

Priya – Event Coordinator

I am a third year year student majoring in Nutritional Science and physiology, and my role as the Events Coordinator is to handle all event details and logistics. Aside from UniLink, I have also published a research paper in the Canadian Journal of Undergraduate Research and I am currently volunteering at St. Paul’s as a palliative care patient visitor. Interesting facts about me: I love travelling, makeup, and my dog 🙂
